BoxSpring Studios is a San Francisco Bay Area based project recording studio that offers professional music recording and post-production services in a cozy, relaxed setting. Located in Pleasant Hill, our aim is to provide local musicians with a low rate, professional level, recording alternative to the expensive studios in the city. Whether you are a singer-songwriter or a nine-piece band, a fresh or seasoned musician, we are committed to working with you to provide a quality experience at an unbeatable rate. How It All Started

BoxSpring Studios started in 2008 when two recording engineers, Ian Harrington and Todd McNeil, decided to pool resources and focus their efforts under one roof. This decision was made in order to share techniques and ideas while spreading out the cost high end equipment. Since then, we’ve spent countless hours refining our craft, upgrading our gear, and transforming the extra room of our house into an amazing recording space. As far as our name, the term "BoxSpring" in our name refers to the box spring mattress found in household beds. We thought the term was fitting for our home-based studio.

BoxSpring Studios does not have ridiculous $150 per hour rates. What we do offer is a great recording space and staff who are just as passionate about music as you are.
